Hello! I am Mrs. Mikkelson and I am the Junior High ELA Teacher. This is my second year as a classroom teacher as well as my second year with the Archdiocese. Prior to coming to St. Zachary, I both lived and worked in Wisconsin as a Long Term Substitute Teacher. I did two long term sub positions there as well as some building subbing. 

A little bit about me; I grew up nearby in the Mount Prospect area. After graduating high school I traveled North to attend the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater where I studied both secondary education and psychology. After graduating from Whitewater I moved to Southern Wisconsin where I began my career in education. Last year I moved back to Illinois and began teaching at St. Zachary. 

In my personal life I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I got married last year and bought a house a few weeks prior so I am always doing home improvement projects. I also enjoy knitting and dyeing my own yarn which my cat love to interfere with.
