We have been hard at work in Second Grade! We prepared for Catholic Schools Week by talking about why we love Saint Zachary School! Some reasons we love coming to school at Saint Zachary include making new friends, practicing our faith, and learning new things.

We have added quite a few new students to our classroom in the last couple of months. We are very excited to welcome each new addition! Students love introducing themselves to our new classmates and making them feel welcome. Adding more friends to our classroom makes all of us happy!

Students have also shared how much they enjoy practicing our faith. Students look forward to watching Mass via YouTube each week and are very excited to be able to attend Mass in person again in the very near future! Second grade also loves giving to others. We are very happy to participate in service projects. We are currently partnered with all of kindergarten through fourth grade friends to collect donations for the Buddy Foundation! Students have also expressed that they enjoy learning character qualities and are proud of the work that they complete in our classroom.

Second graders also enjoy all the new things we are learning academically! We have recently learned to write all our lowercase letters in cursive and we love practicing our new skill! We are looking forward to starting our new math unit on measurement and data this week as well as completing our current reading unit focused on literature. Learning about animals and their environments is also an enjoyable focus right now.
